Celtic are once again Champions of Scotland as Ange Postecoglou finally got his hands on the Scottish Premiership trophy after a sparkling 6-0 final day win over Motherwell.
He was presented with the silverware along with captain Callum McGregor and his team-mates as they concluded a 32 game unbeaten streak in the league – and the best bit for Celtic fans….. Ange is just getting started!
The 2021/22 season is one that started with a lot of question marks, a lot of doubt, but ultimately one which finished with glory as Celtic returned to the top of Scottish Football after a short hiatus.
Ange Postecoglou has played a hugely important role in reviving the club’s fortunes after a disappointing season last time out and with a League & League Cup double to show for his efforts in this debut season the signs are there that his Celtic side will take further strides forward in the season ahead.
Ange and his players will now enjoy a well earned break but the planning will already have started for the challenges that next season will bring. Retaining the Scottish Premiership will be a priority, but the excitement of the UEFA Champions League awaits, and the chance to test ourselves against the very best that European Football has to offer.
We now know that long serving players Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton are moving on and the Quadruple Treble winners received a fitting farewell against Motherwell as the fans thanked them for their contributions to the club. Others will follow and new stars will be brought in as Ange and new Head of Scouting & Recruitment Mark Lawwell take plans forward for the 2022/23 season and beyond.
