Gorgios Giakoumakis stole the headlines this weekend, riffling home an impressive volley on his first start for the club to open the scoring against St Johnstone. We’ve waited a while for our new No.7 to make his mark but hopefully this is the first of many goals the Greek striker bags for the club.

Fellow summer signing Josip Juranovic was also on target from the spot to seal a 2-0 win (a scoreline that we’ve now produced across three consecutive fixtures) and the Bhoys should now be full of confidence as they head down the M8 to face Hibs on Wednesday night.

With four wins on the spin Ange’s system seems to have us heading in the right direction, and though we know that improvement is still required in certain areas he has us full of confidence, scoring goals, and winning games. That can only be a good thing.

This week we also pay tribute to Wim Jansen – “The Man Who Stopped The 10” – following the sad news that he’s living with dementia. Although he was only with Celtic for that one season in 1997/98, what a memorable season it was as we finally reclaimed the Scottish league title on a dramatic final day.

Mif, Paddy and Tino all share their stories of that great afternoon against St Johnstone back in May ’98, and offer up their memories of Wim’s greatest day with Celtic.
